Virus outbreak cuts short holiday cruise
The operators of the cruise ship Marco Polo have announced that that the journey will cease at Invergordon in Easter Ross, Scotland.
Hundreds of passengers and crew on board have shown symptoms of norovirus and are being treated on the ship. Five people have been treated in hospital after falling ill on the ship.
The Marco Polo left Tilbury, Essex, on Saturday 4th July 2009 on a round-Britain cruise.
About 380 people on board the ship were showing symptoms of the vomiting illness, NHS Highland have said that the health board is awaiting results of tests to confirm whether the bug is the norovirus.
