Jenny Bower
Jenny is one of our leading specialists in Personal Injury law, she has wide ranging expertise and works for clients with a range of issues including; road traffic accidents, criminal injuries, employment liability and public liability. Jenny is also able to assist clients who have been injured on holiday both in the UK and abroad.
In a typical day at work Jenny liaises with her current clients and updates them on any new information that they need to know. She also allocates time each day to research case law and ensure that she is up to date with any laws and regulations that may apply to any of her clients' cases. Jenny is always on hand to talk to people who contact Ashton Morton Slack for more information and she is able to speak with them over the telephone to assess whether they have a claim.
Jenny finds her job particularly rewarding and feels proud when she has done a really good job for her client. Jenny explains "That doesn't necessarily mean clients who get the highest amount of compensation, often it's the clients whose claims aren't worth the most that are the most grateful. It's great to receive a thank you card or a phone call and it makes you feel proud that you have help them in some way not just financially".
A turning point in Jenny's career is when she left university when she recognised that she wasn't happy, initially going to work at a Bank. However as Jenny had always had a passion for law she accepted a trainee position at Irwin Mitchell Solicitors working with clients who had been involved in road traffic accidents. This enabled Jenny to gain valuable practical experience and in the evening she committed to studying for the Institute of Legal Executives Exams which she passed with flying colours and will be applying for her Fellowship to the Legal Executives in due course.
Outside of work, Jenny enjoys socialising with her friends and family. She is a keen supporter of Sheffield Wednesday and holds a season ticket to watch the games with her twin brother.
